German ZF gear speed and direction sensor
The SD501201 gear speed and direction sensor has two Hall effect sensors; one detects speed while the other detects the direction of gear movement. The output is an open-collector transistor. Each Hall effect sensor provides a square wave pulse for each gear tooth.
