Hot-wire type gas sensor
The MR511 hot-wire type gas sensor measures gas concentration based on the principle that gas adsorption on the surface of a metal oxide semiconductor causes changes in thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity, with the gas concentration determined by the change in resistance of the platinum coil. The MR511 consists of a detection element and a compensation element paired to form two arms of a Wheatstone bridge. When encountering combustible gas, the resistance of the detection element decreases, causing a change in the bridge output voltage, which increases proportionally with gas concentration. The compensation element serves as a reference and provides temperature compensation.
