Humidity sensor
The MS-Z2 humidity sensor is made of polymer humidity-sensitive material. As humidity increases, the polymer swells, its internal free volume increases, and the number of charge carriers increases. Meanwhile, the activation energy of the counter-ions in the polymer polyelectrolyte decreases, enhancing their mobility and reducing the material's impedance. Conversely, when ambient humidity decreases, water molecules are released from the ionic polymer, causing the material's resistance to increase.
