BOSH Temperature and Humidity Sensor BME280 Description:
The Bosch BME280 (BME280 Integrated Environmental Unit) measures barometric pressure, humidity, and ambient temperature.
Bosch's BME280 is an integrated environmental sensor developed specifically to meet the critical design requirements of small size and low power consumption in mobile applications. The device combines high linearity and high accuracy pressure, humidity, and temperature sensors in a 2.5 x 2.5 x 0.93 mm³ 8-pin metal-lid LGA package, designed for low current consumption (3.6 µA at 1 Hz), long-term stability, and high EMC robustness.
The humidity sensor features extremely fast response time and supports the performance and accuracy requirements of emerging applications (such as context awareness) over a wide temperature range. The pressure sensor is an absolute barometric pressure sensor with extremely high accuracy, high resolution, and very low noise. The integrated temperature sensor is optimized for very low noise and high resolution. The device is primarily used for temperature compensation of the pressure and humidity sensors, but can also be used to assess ambient temperature. The BME280 supports a full range of operating modes, flexibly optimizing power consumption, resolution, and filter performance.
The Bosch Sensortec BME280 breakout board is a PCB with the BME280 pressure and humidity sensor mounted. The device can be easily accessed via a simple socket. All Bosch Sensortec sensor breakout boards share the same base area and can be plugged into advanced development tools such as Bosch Sensortec development boards. Of course, the BME280 breakout board can also be used in customer-specific solutions.
