Product Introduction
I. Swiss Sensirion Digital Temperature and Humidity SensorSHT20Product Description:
The SHT20 digital temperature and humidity sensorisa cost-effective product in the SHT21 temperature and humidity sensorseries, with millions of units in use and a wide range of applications. This type of sensor is suitable for high-volume production industries that are extremely cost-sensitive but also value quality.
The digital temperature and humidity sensor SHT20 is a new generation Sensirion humidity and temperatureSensorssensor that sets new standards in size and intelligence: it is embedded in areflow solderabledual flat no-lead DFN package, with a bottomdimension of 3 x 3mm and a height of 1.1mm. The sensor outputs calibrated digital signals in standard I2C format.
SHT21It features a newly designed CMOSens® chip, an improved capacitive humidity sensing element, and a standard bandgap temperature sensing element, with performance significantly enhanced and even exceeding the reliability level of previous generation sensors (SHT1x and SHT7x). For example, the new generation humidity sensor has been improved to provide more stable performance in high-humidity environments.
Each sensor is calibrated and tested. The product batch number is printed on the surface, and anelectronicidentification code is stored in the chip - these codes can be read by sending commands.
In addition, the resolution of the SHT20 can be changed via commands (8/12bit to 12/14bit for RH/T), the sensor can detect low battery status, and output a checksum, which helps improve communication reliability.
Due to improvements and miniaturization of the sensor, it offers higher cost-effectiveness - and ultimately all devices will benefit from advanced energy-saving operating modes. A new test kit EK-H4 can be used to test the SHT20.
Digital Temperature and Humidity Sensor SHT20 Sensor Chip
The SHT20 is equipped with a 4th generation CMOSens® chip. In addition to a capacitive relative humidity sensor and a bandgap temperature sensor, the chip also includes an amplifier, A/D converter, OTP memory, and digital processing unit.
Digital Temperature and Humidity Sensor SHT20 Material Composition
The sensor itself is made of silicon, and the sensor housing is made of gold-plated copper lead frames and green epoxy-based molding compound. The device is free of lead, cadmium, and mercury - therefore, it fully complies with RoHS and WEEE standards.
SHT20 - New Humidity Sensor (Humidity & Temperature)
The smallest humidity sensor, suitable for various application conditions. The SHT20 temperature and humidity sensorintegrates the sensing element, calibrationmemoryand digital interface on a 3x3mm substrate. Additionally, the sensor provides electronic identification and tracking information. Except for the sensing element, the sensor surface is overmolded to reduce the impact of external factors such as aging, vibration, and volatile chemical gases, ensuring good stability.
