The ME4-SO2 sensor is a constant potential electrolytic SO2 sensor. SO2 and O2 undergo corresponding oxidation-reduction reactions at the working electrode and counter electrode, releasing charge to form a current. The current magnitude is proportional to the SO2 concentration, and the SO2 concentration can be determined by measuring the current.
