Product Introduction

German AMT Shallow Water Micro Sensor for Dissolved Oxygen Description:

A current-based dissolved oxygen micro sensor for shallow water has been developed for very rapid in-situ depth profiling via CTD probes and horizontal profiling in rivers, lakes, and oceans using towed vehicles, ROVs, or AUVs. Due to the partial pressure of gaseous O2, the analyte permeates through the membrane. Inside the sensor, oxygen undergoes an electrochemical reaction at the working electrode. This generates a current corresponding to the partial pressure of dissolved oxygen. The sensor's t90% response time can reach a few hundred milliseconds. As is well known from all other Clark-type membrane-covered oxygen sensors, flow-through is not necessary. Therefore, analysis with very high local resolution is possible. Turbid, muddy, and colored solutions do not affect the sensor signal. To measure oxygen saturation, the sensor needs to be combined with temperature measurement. If oxygen concentration is determined, additional measurement or knowledge of conductivity/salinity is required. Maximum deployment depth is 100 meters. All sensors are equipped with temperature compensation data.
