Measurement Principle of Online Suspended Solids Meter ZS-680
The suspended solids meter indicates the degree to which suspended solids in water obstruct light transmission. Mud, dust, fine organic matter, and other microorganisms and colloids in water can cause suspended solids. The light waves emitted by the sensor's transmitter are absorbed, reflected, and scattered by the measured substance during transmission. Some transmitted light can reach the detector at 180°, and some scattered light reaches the detector at 90°. The intensity of light received by the detectors at 180° and 90° has a certain relationship with the suspended solids in the measured wastewater. Therefore, by measuring the intensity of transmitted and scattered light, the suspended solids in the wastewater can be calculated.
