The KAPTA™2000-AC2 detector has been specifically developed to measure active chlorine (HOCl) and temperature directly in high-pressure pipes for many applications, including management and control of drinking water networks, real-time, rapid control of chemical dosing in industrial water treatment and cleaning regimes, and management of chlorine levels in swimming pools and spas.
The KAPTA™2000-AC2 is an amperometric sensor that uses a structured photo-polymerized membrane directly on the electrode with electrolyte, suppressing the well-known drawbacks of amperometric sensors such as pressure and flow sensitivity, allowing the probe to be installed directly in pipes with a flow pressure of 10 bar without flow or pressure control.
The sensor body also eliminates the need for on-site recalibration and ongoing routine membrane replacement, which ensures long-term signal stability and reduces maintenance costs. The measurement principle is based on a Clark-type cell with working, counter, and reference electrodes.

The sensor design includes a simple replaceable head, easy to handle, requiring no reagents or electrolytes. Since the sensor's life cycle can vary with the application, the design allows for more flexibility and price improvements for critical applications.
