Korea GreenChip LED Linear Driver IC - GP8100

LED linear driver IC - GP8100 is a direct AC line driver integrated circuitthat meetsstringentpower efficiency and PF (powerfactor) requirements, and can be optimized by addingvarious features for low-cost LED lighting systems withsmall PCB space.It requires only at least 1 bridge diode and 1resistor (RCS) to ensure stable operation, and doesnot require external smoothing electrolytic capacitorsdue to its stable built-in shunt regulator.Power THD power compensation OVP lineardimming (0-10V dimming), triac dimming circuits can beimplemented withstringenta small number of external components.Stable thermal design at high powerCan be implemented with external powerMOSFET (GHV TR) also byGreenchip。

GP8100 not only provides basic standard functionsneeded to design efficient LED lighting systems,but also various optional functions to meet various needsof LED lighting designers.First, it uses a very simple sequential driving method. Avery low-cost lighting system can be achieved with limitedPCB space andstringenta small number of externalcomponents.Second, control circuits can be easily added as neededaccording to system specifications. If designers want tofurther reduce THD, reduce power variationcaused by input voltage fluctuations, or add dimmingcircuits, these functions can be implemented with astringentsmall number of external components.Third, its power can be distributed externally toMOSFETs. To prevent excessive temperatureincrease, GHV TR, also fromGreenChip, can be connected in parallel with the IC's internalTR, which prevents the IC from overheating andmalfunctioning, and also helps design systems with ahigher input power capacity than a single IC.
