Product Introduction

The SS8100 is a high-efficiency, constant-current, step-down half-bridge DC/DC converter driver chip with an output current capability exceeding 15A and PWM dimming resolution exceeding 50000:1.

The SS8100 operates in a hysteretic constant off-time mode, requiring no external compensation design for easy use. Its output current capability can be adjusted via external resistor (Rcs) of different values or by adjusting the voltage on the analog dimming control pin IADJ. The current capability can reach over 15A. PWM signals input through the DIM pin enable flexible LED dimming control.

The SS8100 offers two operating modes: synchronous and asynchronous, allowing customers to design flexibly according to their needs.

The SS8100 features good linearity and stable constant current characteristics, enabling precise dimming and stable operation under harsh power supply conditions.

System computation optimization for low grayscale dimming eliminates flicker and jitter issues, providing better linear dimming characteristics for LEDs. Both PWM and linear dimming controls coexist, allowing independent dimming current control.
The SS8100 provides a series of protection functions, including undervoltage lockout (UVLO), overtemperature protection (OTP), LED open and short circuit protection, and output undervoltage protection. The SS8100 uses a package with a heat sink, ensuring stable operation under high current conditions.
