Japan NEMOTO Ionization Smoke Sensor - NIS-02C
The NIS-02C is an ionization smoke sensor that, like other smoke sensors, uses an extremely small amount of radioactive material 241Am internally. Its radiation level is below the basic standard of 10KBq for radioactive materials set by the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) under the BSS, so it can be treated as a product without radioactive materials. Therefore, there are no restrictions on installing it
inside smoke alarms, and there are no regulations regarding its disposal as waste. This product has exactly the same dimensions, shape, and smoke sensitivity as the NIS-09C, and can be freely interchanged.
