The MTS4X-OW is a digital-analog mixed-signal temperature sensor chip with high measurement accuracy of ±0.1°C, requiring no user calibration. The temperature sensing principle is based on the characteristic relationship between CMOS semiconductor PN junction temperature and bandgap voltage. After small-signal amplification, analog-to-digital conversion, and digital calibration compensation, the output is provided via a digital bus. It features high accuracy, good consistency, fast temperature measurement, low power consumption, flexible programmable configuration, and long lifespan.
The chip integrates a 16-bit ADC with a resolution of 0.004°C and has an ultra-wide operating range from -103°C to +153°C. The chip has a unique 64-bit ID serial number and is 100% tested and calibrated before leaving the factory. Calibration coefficients are fitted based on temperature error characteristics, and the chip automatically performs compensation calculations internally. To simplify system applications, the chip's ID search, temperature data memory access, and function configuration are all based on digital single-bus protocol (One Wire, OW) commands. The host microprocessor only needs one GPIO port for read/write access. The single-bus communication interface enables multi-node sensor acquisition and networking through a shared data bus, offering a low-cost solution with long transmission distance and support for many nodes, facilitating spatially distributed sensor networking. It can support up to 100 nodes and 100 to 500 meters of temperature measurement node series networking.
The chip integrates non-volatile E2PROM storage cells for saving the chip ID, high/low temperature alarm thresholds, temperature calibration correction values, and user-defined information such as sensor node numbers and location information.
