4-Key Touch Detection IC - Capacitive Touch Chip CT8224C

Operating voltage 2.4V~5.5V
The internal voltage regulator circuit can be enabled or disabled via external option, selected through the REGEN pin
The internal low-voltage reset circuit can be enabled or disabled via external option, selected through the LVREN pin. The 8224C has LVR disabled by default
Operating current
-@VDD=3V no load: typical 4.5uA in low-power mode, typical 22uA in fast mode
-@VDD=3V operating voltage: in fast mode, the fastest response time for KEY is 60ms; in low-power mode, it is 160ms

Product Model: Capacitive Touch Chip CT8224C

Product Introduction

The CT8224C is a touch IC designed based on capacitive sensing principles. This IC has a built-in voltage regulator circuit for the touch sensor, providing stable sensing that can be applied to various electronic products. The panel medium can be an insulating material, designed to replace traditional mechanical switches or ordinary buttons, providing 4 touch input ports and 4 direct output ports.

I. Capacitive Touch Chip -Features of CT8224C:

Operating voltage 2.4V~5.5V
The internal voltage regulator circuit can be enabled or disabled via external option, selected through the REGEN pin
The internal low-voltage reset circuit can be enabled or disabled via external option, selected through the LVREN pin. The 8224C has LVR disabled by defaultOperating current
-@VDD=3V no load: typical 4.5uA in low-power mode, typical 22uA in fast mode
-@VDD=3V operating voltage: in fast mode, the fastest response time for KEY is 60ms; in low-power mode, it is 160ms
The sensitivity of each KEY can be adjusted by external capacitors (1~50pF)
Provides LPMB pin to select fast mode or low-power mode
Provides direct output mode, toggle mode, open-drain output, CMOS high-level active or low-level active output, selected via TOG/OD/AHLB pins
Provides SM pin to select multi-key or single-key output mode
Provides MOT1, MOT0 pins to select the maximum output time for active keys: 120 seconds/64 seconds/16 seconds
After power-on, there is a system stabilization time of about 0.5 seconds. During this period, do not touch the Touch PAD, and the touch function is disabled
Has auto-calibration function. Within 8 seconds after power-on, the system recalibration period is about 1 second. If a key is touched within 8 seconds or no key is touched for more than 8 seconds, the system recalibration period switches from 1 second to 4 seconds

II. Capacitive Touch Chip -Applications of CT8224C:

Consumer electronic products
Replacement for membrane switches, buttons, and ordinary switches
TWS Bluetooth earphones

Smart speakers

AI smart devices

Educational toys
