Product Introduction
I.Metal Oxide Sensor Management SystemAS330 Description:
In the case of metal oxide sensor technology, an upgrade uses AC instead of DC to power the sensing material.
This method provides complementary atmospheric composition information from the real and imaginary parts of the sensor impedance, and introduces significant enhancements in sensitivity and selectivity.
The SMS is designed to be used with 8 metal oxide gas sensors. It has circuits that precisely control the sensor heating temperature based on a digital control loop. Individual sensor heater 0°C resistance and temperature coefficients can be set, and there are many heater parameter setpoint algorithms to choose from.
This includes temperature ramps, time-temperature profiles, and can be controlled via an external RS485 interface. The temperature setpoint algorithm can be set to dual or can be subordinated to the first unit if needed. The SMS unit tests the sensing element impedance, which applies a controllable synthesized sine wave to a divider consisting of a top resistor (selectable between 100KΩ and 1MΩ via jumpers on the board) and the sensor: the sensor resistance is displayed by the PC monitoring software and is the quadrature component of the test.
