Product Introduction
1. Description of the FRI Fiber Optic Refractive Index Sensor:
FRI is a fiber optic refractive index sensor, ideal for measuring the refractive index of fluids in industrial, chemical, and food processing applications. They are also commonly used to measure oil concentration ratios. For engineers in the instrumentation industry, this field-proven solution is undoubtedly a valuable asset.
As a compact sensor, FRI provides online refractive index measurement and can be used for continuous monitoring of any process, whether industrial or chemical in food engineering, thereby eliminating issues of manual sampling and measurement consistency. Additionally, FRI sensors operate reliably under varying temperatures, EMI, and other changing environmental conditions.
In any application involving fluid chemistry and fluid quality control, including cooling systems, engineers in the aforementioned R&D departments may need to improve process and product technology by monitoring the performance of specific characteristics over a period of time. During operation
Throughout the entire lifecycle of a process, manufacturing process, or product, specific product performance variations will manifest in the refractive index.
Using the FRI refractive index sensor enables comprehensive refractive index analysis of targets in challenging harsh environments.
Our unique sensor design is based on the length variation of a fluid-filled Fabry-Perot optical cavity to precisely determine the refractive index of fluids. The length of the fluid-filled Fabry-Perot optical cavity is proportional to the refractive index of the fluid sample. Therefore, by using white light interferometry to measure the Fabry-Perot cavity length, the refractive index can be determined.
The fiber optic signal conditioner maintains the ability to measure refractive index even under harsh temperature, EMI, humidity conditions, and with simple calibration variations.
The FRI fiber optic refractive index sensor provides better and more reliable refractive index measurements for existing applications in the industry, while also offering new extended capabilities for continuous online monitoring of fluid refractive index under harsh conditions.
We offer two models of FRI fiber optic refractive index sensors: FRI-BA and FRI-NP. The former features a compact mini package, while the latter has a rugged stainless steel package suitable for industrial applications.
