Product Model: FOT-L-SD

Product Introduction

1. Fiber Optic Temperature SensorFOT-L-SD FOT-L-BADescription

FOT-L-SD and FOT-L-BA are fiber optic temperature sensors ideal for measuring temperature in extreme environments, fiber optic temperature sensorsincluding low temperatures, nuclear environments, microwaves, and high-intensity RF. The FOT-L combines all the excellent characteristics you expect from an ideal sensor body. Therefore, even under extreme temperatures and adverse environments, these sensors provide high-precision and reliable temperature measurements.

Both FOT-L temperature sensors feature complete immunity to EMI and RFI, along with small size, built-in safety for hazardous environments, high-temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, and high accuracy.

Based on fiber optic technology, the sensors are inherently immune to EMI and RFI. The optical sensor is electronically inactive, so it neither emits nor is affected by any type of electromagnetic radiation, whether microwave, RF, or NMR.

Another important advantage of optical fiber is that it enables the production of various miniature components while maintaining the physical properties of the materials. On the other hand, the fiber size has been optimized to provide the smallest possible optical path. Thanks to this advantage, the tip diameter of the fiber optic sensor can be as small as 0.8 mm.

FISO's fiber optic temperature sensors provide accurate, stable, and repeatable temperature measurements. These measurements are based on changes in reflected light—compared to emitted light—caused by the thermal expansion of the highly stable glass inside the sensor.

The FOT-L-SD is encapsulated in PTFE and has a temperature range of -40°C to 300°C (-40°F to 572°F).

The FOT-L-BA features a smaller diameter, which allows for faster response times. Its maximum temperature rating is 250°C.

All temperature sensors manufactured by our company must be used with the corresponding FISO signal conditioners.

The fiber optic lead cable can be several meters long without affecting the quality and accuracy of the sensor measurements.
