Product Introduction
Swiss MicrodulAG Capacitive 8-Channel Touch and Proximity Sensor PCF8885 Description:
The PCF8885 is a capacitive 8-channel touch and proximity sensor that uses a patented (EDISEN) method to detect capacitance changes on sensing plates. Changes in static capacitance (as opposed to dynamic capacitance changes) are automatically compensated by continuous auto-calibration. Sensing plates (e.g., conductive foil) can be connected to the IC1 using coaxial cables. The eight input channels operate independently. There is also a built-in option for matrix arrangement of sensors: an interrupt is generated only when two channels are activated simultaneously, and channel outputs are suppressed when two channels are already active.
