Swiss MicrodulAG Capacitive Proximity Switch MS8883 Description:
The integrated circuit MS8883A is a capacitive switch that uses a patented (EDISEN) digital method to detect changes in capacitance on the sensing plate. Changes in static capacitance (as opposed to dynamic capacitance changes) can be automatically compensated using continuous automatic calibration. The sensing plate (e.g., conductive foil) can be remotely connected to the IC using a coaxial cable.
