Product Introduction
UK Clairair Low Power Infrared Gas Sensor 0-5000ppm CH4Prime RP Description:
The Prime RP sensor uses non-dispersive infrared method to detect the presence of hydrocarbon gases. The sensor contains an infrared radiation source, a dual-element custom infrared detector, a unique optical waveguide that allows gas to diffuse in, and microprocessor-based internal electronics that provide a voltage output independent of power supply polarity. These sensors can be configured to provide a Pellistor format output, typically at a medium voltage level at zero, with voltage output increasing by 100mV as the detector pin moves, within a range; or provide a linear voltage output, typically varying from 0.4V to 2.0V on the negative power pin. Additionally, the output can be read and internal configuration can be accessed via a serial communication link. The contact points for the communication link are pads in the 3-pin version of the Prime RP. The internal electronics perform all functions of driving the sensor optics, extracting detector signals, converting signals to concentration, applying temperature compensation, and scaling the output. The Prime RP is not currently explosion-proof certified, so it should be placed in a suitable explosion-proof enclosure when used in hazardous areas. Technical support and application notes for implementation can be obtained fromTechnicalConsultation.
