Product Introduction

The MLC12G is a highly integrated dual-channel inductance and capacitance sensing chip. When used for metal proximity detection, it is directly connected to an inductance coil to measure the coil's inductance value (self-inductance), while being insensitive to the human body and non-conductive substances. When used for capacitance proximity detection, the chip is directly connected to the electrode under test to measure the capacitance value to ground at a single end (self-capacitance). Through the resonance excitation method, it calculates and measures tiny changes in inductance or capacitance values, thereby determining position information.

Compared with traditional methods using ferrite coils, the MLC12G can adapt to smaller PCB coils, making it a low-power, low-cost, and high-resolution non-contact metal detection solution. Compared with traditional touch-type RC oscillation detection structures, the MLC12G adopts a very high-frequency resonance method, which, in conjunction with detection electrodes, enables the detection of material dielectricElectrical detection with better electric field strength penetration.
The MLC12G oscillation frequency can be arbitrarily configured within the range of 10KHz to 100MHz, with a frequency measurement output value of a 16-bit digital signal. Function configuration and data read/write support an I2C communication rate of up to 1MHz. It integrates a built-in low-noise power management module LDO, suitable for a wide power supply voltage range of 2.0V to 5.5V. The chip also integrates a temperature sensing circuit, which can be used for temperature compensation and other temperature sensing scenarios. Frequency calculation is fully digitalized through an internal digital signal processing unit, and multiple working modes can be flexibly configured.
Compared with similar domestic and international products, the MLC12G offers a wider excitation frequency range, longer non-contact measurement performance, a wider operating voltage range, and more flexible reference frequency and working mode configurations. The chip also includes a temperature sensing signal for temperature compensation. The independent dual-channel measurement method allows mutual compensation and reference, and automatic alarm logic can also be configured. It is widely applicable to industrial and specialized detection scenarios such as metal proximity, human proximity, and position sensing.
