Product Introduction

1. MEMSAir Quality SensorTGS8100 Description

The sensing element consists of a sensing chip, an integrated heater formed on a silicon substrate using MEMS technology, and a metal oxide semiconductor layer formed on the sensing chip. The element is housed in a ceramic surface mount package. Due to the miniaturized design of the sensing chip, the TGS8100 requires only 15mW of heating power, making it ideal for low-power and battery-powered devices. If detectable gases are present, the sensor's conductivity increases with the gas concentration in the air. A simple circuit can then convert the change in conductivity into an output signal proportional to the gas concentration.

TGS8100Highly sensitive to low concentrations of gaseous air pollutants such as cigarette smoke and cooking fumes. By utilizing the rate of change of the sensor resistance relative to its resistance in clean air as a relative response value, it can simulate human perception of air pollutants, thereby enabling practical air quality control.
