Product Introduction

MC1081A is an automotive-grade, highly integrated, multi-channel, wide-frequency digital capacitance sensing chip that meets the AEC-Q100 Grade 0 standard. The chip connects directly to the measurement electrode plates and senses capacitance changes through variations in oscillation frequency. The excitation frequency is configurable within the range of 0.1 to 30MHz, and the measurement output is a 16-bit digital signal, with a corresponding high resolution of 1fF for capacitance. The chip supports multiple operating modes, including single-ended capacitance, differential floating capacitance, and mutual capacitance. It integrates a 16-bit high-precision digital temperature sensor, suitable for applications requiring temperature compensation and other temperature-composite sensing. The chip features a fully digital design, with configuration and data reading via the I2C interface, supporting communication speeds up to 1Mbps.

Capacitive sensing detects minute capacitance changes of the measured substance under electric field excitation, enabling dielectric detection of different materials. It is a non-contact, high-resolution, high-speed, low-power, and low-cost sensing method. Compared with similar domestic and international products, the MC1081A chip can measure up to 10 single-ended or 5 differential capacitances simultaneously. It offers a wide adjustable range for capacitance excitation frequency, configurable amplitude, diverse and flexible measurement modes, a wide operating voltage range, simple peripheral circuits, and strong applicability. The chip can be widely used in various scenarios such as non-contact dielectric detection, level measurement, touch control, proximity sensing, water immersion sensing, moisture detection, and moisture content analysis.
