Terminal and part information description for Korean Hagisonic Robot Ultrasonic Sensor Module HG-M40 Series, HG-L40 Series:

① Pulse input terminal: The input voltage level of the pulse should be in the range of +2V to 10V.

- When an input pulse is applied, the ultrasonic transmission part is driven on its rising edge.

- Recommended input pulse period is in the range of 10 Hz to 50 Hz (can be used from 0 to max 200 Hz)

- Various pulse shapes are available, such as TTL signals, pulses, square waves, sine waves, or triangular waves.

② DC input power terminal: Recommended voltage range is +DC 10V to 16V.

③ Signal output terminal: Obtains rectangular wave from the receiver part

- The time delay of the received signal is proportional to the distance between the sensor and the obstacle.

- The pulse width tends to be proportional to the size of the obstacle.

- Other output levels such as 3.5V, 10V, etc. can be provided through custom production.

④ GND terminal: Electrical ground level for signal and power.

⑤ Frequency trimming part: The frequency of the drive signal can be trimmed in the range of 38 kHz to 42 kHz. (Recommendation: Do not fix it because

the module has been optimized before shipment.)

⑥ Receiver gain control part: Sensitivity (gain) is controlled by the setting of the trimmer capacitor. The analog amplifier range is 33 dB to

59 dB.

* Please note that when the receiver gain is over-amplified, interference noise signals may appear in the ultrasonic waves transmitted directly from the transmitter to the receiver.

⑦ Analog signal test point: At this point, the analog signal (full waveform) can be observed.

⑧ Operation indicator: The red LED lights up when the transmitter is driven or the receiver recognizes a signal.

Module and mode description for Korean Hagisonic Robot Ultrasonic Sensor Module HG-M40 Series, HG-L40 Series:

1. Modules

① Transceiver (D):

It can be used not only as a transceiver module, but also as a receiver or transmitter under different wiring configurations.

Because the transceiver emits ultrasonic waves and waits for a reply, it can detect distances of 30cm to 40cm and beyond. However,

it will try to identify whether an object exists somewhere.

② Transmitter (T): Only transmits ultrasonic waves.

③ Receiver (R): Only receives ultrasonic waves.

When using 2 or more sets of transmitters and receivers, close-range detection of 1 to 2 cm can be performed.

Similarly, if a transceiver is used, when it is independently used as a transmitter or receiver, it can also detect obstacles at distances as short as 1 to

2 cm.

2. Modes

① Trigger input mode (M-type)

② Pulse train input mode (L-type)

3. Differences between M-type and L-type.

Trigger input mode

Pulse train input mode

1. Built-in 40kHz oscillator

2. Always on standby

3. Each external trigger pulse, sound waves appear sequentially

4. Pulse frequency is adjustable, but the trigger short pulse and duration (about 1mS) are fixed

5. Strong ultrasonic waves and low click noise

1. Simple structure, only amplifier and output circuit (no oscillator)

2. An external 40 kHz burst pulse signal is required to operate (external oscillator or software is needed to generate the signal)

3. Pulse frequency can be changed, duration and RF can be set according to

user requirements

4. Can be applied through CPU circuits or S/W in multiple channels
